Bridget McNulty is a writer, advocate and magazine publisher based in South Africa. Her first novel - Strange Nervous Laughter - was published by Struik in South Africa in 2007 and St Martin’s Press in the USA in 2008. At the same time, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She co-founded Sweet Life Diabetes Community, South Africa’s largest online diabetes community, which is a flourishing non-profit. She is known as the leading voice for diabetes in South Africa, and is frequently interviewed on radio and TV. In 2021, after her mother died, she published The Grief Handbook: A guide through the worst days of your life with Watkins Publishing in the UK. She’s currently writing her second book all about joy.
