David Eimer is a writer and journalist. He is the author of two critically-acclaimed books, The Emperor Far Away: Travels at the Edge of China (2014) and A Savage Dreamland: Journeys in Burma (2019), both published by Bloomsbury. David worked as a journalist in London and Los Angeles, before moving to Asia in 2005.

He was the China correspondent for the Sunday Telegraph 2007-12 and the Southeast Asia correspondent for the Daily Telegraph from 2012-14. David has reported on coups, earthquakes, elections, insurgencies, riots, terrorist attacks and typhoons, as well as the Beijing Olympics, Hollywood and the Miss World competition. He is currently based in Bangkok.
